How does drone delivery works?
The order is received, processed and packaged. A drone is loaded before taking off to a specified drop-off point. The drone hovers above its destination and lowers the package to the ground, where it's received by the customer. The drone returns to its hub or home base.
What is the benefit of drone delivery?
Despite many benefits associated with drone package delivery – lightning-fast speed, low cost in comparison to car delivery, and access to remote areas – the projected huge growth of this market stumbles upon the national regulations or rather a lack of thereof.
How many drones are used for delivery?
Over the past three years, there have been over 660,000 commercial drone deliveries to customers, not including the countless test flights to develop and prove the technology (Exhibit). As of early 2022, we estimate that more than 2,000 drone deliveries are occurring each day worldwide.
